Activate Adobe Creative Suite CS2 on intel Mac's has been a topic of great discussion. Supposedly problems to do with activation were fixed with the release of Quicktime 7.1.1. Unfortunately, I have Quicktime 7.1.1 installed on my Intel Mac, and could not get Creative Suite to activate. This short guide explains how I managed to activate it (and continue to use my adobe products)
The process is relatively simple. Here are my symptoms: - Adobe products would not activate over the internet
- Adobe products would not activate over the phone
- Some programs were complaining that I couldn't launch them until I had activated
- The error you get for your activation is non-existant (when activating, mine said Activation Type: Normal: 93:12)
My solution: - Quit any open Adobe Applications
- Find another activated computer (my old Powerbook G4 in this instance) and copy the /Library/Preferences/Adobe Systems/Product licenses_120 to the new machine.
- Launch an Adobe Application
- You will be told that your activation is no longer valid, and asked to click OK to connue
- Activate as per normal
... and voila! Creative Suite is now activated. As for what was going on? Well - I have no idea... But it works now! |
