I have previously discussed the legality of "fomat converting" music in Australia for playback on MP3 players or with iTunes in various forms. The Age newspaper has reported on the Federal Governments plans to make format changing legal in Australia which will mean that you can convert CD's, Magazine, Newspapers etc to MP3 (or other digital) format, and will also mean that it will become legal to record TV and Radio. |

Yesterday, Rob Hyndman noticed an impressive disclaimer for a rock preserve, noting that he wanted to include similar language in future contracts. Lawyer David Canton couldn't resist and used the disclaimer as a model for a wonderful new disclaimer for the internet that we agree should be a must read for all internet users. (please note, that not all of this is a true reflection of my business!) |

Well... it comes that time in the day when everyone needs to be reminded to write good code. I've just been setting up MySQL replication to try and add yet *another* layer of redundancy to my server setup, and I came across this FAQ in the MySQL manual. I thought it vaguely humerous from a programmers POV (point of view) so I thought I would share it. |
